Laundry Detergent
It's hard to believe from its simple ingredients, but this laundry detergent is very effective. It's amazing and cheap!
7 oz. bar soap (most recipes suggest using a laundry-specific soap like Fels-Naptha, but I have had great results with just the cheapest hand soap I can find)
1 cup washing soda* or baking soda
1 cup borax/boric acid*
10-20 drops of essential oils of choice, if desired
*These can both be found with the laundry stuff at grocery stores
Finely grate the soap. Cover your nose and mouth, because harder soaps can create particulates that you don't want to inhale. Then mix all ingredients together.
To use, put 1-2 Tbls. in with your laundry. Use 3 Tbls. if you are really nervous about extra dirty laundry. But that really is all you need! I gave it my grossest, dirtiest laundry I have, and it came out perfectly clean and nice-smelling with using only 2 Tbls. It really is amazing!
